I have the honour to transmit for your

consideration the enclosed copy of the Gratuity Paper of Police

Sergeant Angus Mc Swayed, who has had to be invalided from the

Service owing to disablement.

I enclose copy of his statement relating

to the manner in which he received the injuries which have

led to his compulsory retirement, together with a copy of the

Medical Certificate and a statement by the Superintendent of

the Goverment Civil Hospital on the subject. The enclosed

draft Pension Paper shows the amount of pension to which he

would have been entitled had he actually received the injuries

while on duty, but as this was not so, and as Sergeant

however,

Me Swayed has had less than 10 years' service, it was impos-

sible under the regulations to grant him a pension. I have

been advised by the Executive Council to submit his

case to you for special consideration; not only on account of

the generally good character which he has borne during the

nine years he has served in the Force but also in view of the

fact that he was actually returning from attendance at a fire
